Two graduate students in the Department of Entomology won the President Prize at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America

Two graduate students in the Department of Entomology, George Guan-Hua Lin and Xiaozhao Song, were recent winners of the President Prize for the student competition at the 2009 annual meeting of the Entomology Society of America held December 12 to 16 in Indianapolis, Indiana. George's ten minute paper was entitled, "HR96 and BR-C modulate phenobarbital induced transcription of cytochrome P450 CYP6D1 in Drosophila S2 cells", co-authored with his major advisor Jeffrey G. Scott. Xiaozhao's winning poster presentation was entitled, "Identification and characterization of cysteine protease inhibiting activity in the midgut fluid of Trichoplusia ni larvae", co-authored with Changyou Li, Guoxun Li and her advisor Ping Wang.
