March 6-9, 2011 - Angela Douglas contributes invited lecture to Genome Biology Workshop at Magnetic Island

March 21st, 2011

Angela Douglas contributed to a lecture on post-genomic research on insect-bacterial symbioses to a workshop on the Genome Biology of Corals and their Relatives organized by Dr. David Miller and Dr. David Yellowlees, ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies. The Workshop summarized the genomic resources increasingly available for the study of corals, including the coral symbioses with Symbiodinium algae and bacteria, and looked forward to post-genomic research opportunities in coral symbiosis, immunity and developmental biology. Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies presented their research and made important contributions to the formal and informal discussion.
