Our Purpose

    At the Sarkaria Institute, our purpose is to:
    1. Conduct fundamental research on the physiology and toxicology of insects
    2. Provide training of graduate and under-graduate students
    3. Offer a forum for the advancement of insect physiology and toxicology

About the Sarkaria Institute (SIPTI)

The Sarkaria Institute of Insect Physiology and Toxicology (SIPTI) is an institute of the Department of Entomology, Cornell University.  It was founded in 2002 through the generosity and foresight of Daljit S. Sarkaria PhD'48 (Entomology) and Elaine Sarkaria.  The institute currently has three faculty members with graduate student support starting in 2007.
